Deej Juventin, CSB, M.A., brings his extensive experience in somatic sexology to the training. He trained as a Sacred Intimate at Wildwood in California, and as a Certified Sexological Bodyworker at the Institute for Advanced Studies of Human Sexuality in San Francisco, and interned with Joseph and Ellen at the first Australian training. He has helped pioneer somatic sex education training in Australia, founding Sex Coaching and Therapy in Brisbane and facilitating somatic sex trainings internationally. He is the founding president of the Somatic Sex Educators’ Association of Australasia. Deej has over 20 years experience in adult education, teacher training, embodied counselling and various forms of bodywork.
Uma Furman, CSB, is one of the world’s leading somatic sex educators, with over 5,000 hours of face-to-face teaching to individuals, couples, and groups. Based in Brisbane, Australia, Uma teaches conscious sexuality throughout Australia and Asia. She is a Certified Somatic Sex Educator and a founding member of The Somatic Sex Educators’ Association of Australasia (SSEAA).
Joseph Kramer, Ph.D., provides the content for module one. He is the foremost teacher of erotic bodywork in the world. In 1984, he founded the Body Electric School in Oakland, California, where he trained thousands of professional massage therapists, erotic bodyworkers and somatic educators. The Body Electric is the world’s largest community network offering safe sex education today–and for the last twenty-five years. In 1992, he started the Erospirit Research Institute, a think tank exploring the connection between spirituality and sexuality. In 1999, he founded The New School of Erotic Touch.
Joseph founded the new legal profession of Sexological Bodywork™ in 2003. Professional trainings are now being offered in California, Europe, Canada, and Australia. He is on the faculty at The Institute For Advanced Study of Human Sexuality and The International Institute of Sexological Bodywork in Zürich. Joseph has produced over a dozen educational DVDs and has been featured in the HBO series Real Sex.
Ellen Heed, PhD (Cand), CSB, provides the anatomy and physiology content for module one. Ellen’s areas of expertise include postpartum sexuality, smooth muscle massage, and functional anatomy. She has spent over 10,000 hours as a bodyworker, is a certified Shiatsu Specialist, a Craniosacral Therapist, an international teacher of human anatomy, and a yoga teacher.
